This 16 AWG automotive fusible link wire provides reliable overcurrent protection in high-amperage 12V and 24V systems. A fusible link functions like a slow-blow fuse—constructed from a short length of wire typically four AWG sizes smaller than the circuit it protects. For example, a 16 AWG link may be used to protect a 12 AWG wire. When overloaded, the internal conductor melts, while its high-temperature, fire-resistant insulation contains heat and flame to reduce fire risk.
