The solenoid/contactor coil closes and opens electrical circuits. The solenoid operates by having a small current pass through the control circuit coil, which creates a magnetic field and closes a set of contacts in order to complete that circuit.
This part may not have a direct fit on all vehicles as it may require a few adjustments to get to fit.
